Prevention of gender-based violence (GBV) is a priority area for achieving gender equality, and reproductive health and rights. Domestic violence, sexual violence, human trafficking and sex selective abortions are some of the forms of gender-based violence found in the East and South-East Asia region.

This study shows how UN agencies and development partners have incorporated gender-based violence in their work at national, regional and international levels. It presents six dimensions of the issue, namely institutional frameworks, legal frameworks, awareness creation and prevention, medical and psychosocial interventions, legal services, and national debates and dialogues.
