UNFPA Mali Situation Report #1 - June 2024

Resource date: Jul 2024

EN

Military operations in central and northern Mali are causing widespread population movement. Non-state armed groups have targeted river navigation infrastructure, including ferries, further restricting humanitarian access and supply transportation.

UNFPA participated in two inter-agency missions to Koro and Bankas to assess intersectoral needs and the assistance provided to displaced populations. This evaluation was crucial for delivering a comprehensive response to meet the sexual and reproductive health (SRH) and protection needs of women and girls, and for adjusting programme interventions as necessary.

In the reporting period, UNFPA provided SRH services and support for gender-based violence to 3,244 people across the Gao, Timbuktu, Menaka, Kidal, Mopti, and Segou regions.
