Syria was hit by two big earthquakes with 7.8 and 7.6 magnitudes on 6 February 2023. Aleppo, Idleb, Lattakia, Tartous, and Hama were the most severely impacted areas, with a reported 80+ aftershocks further exacerbating the damage.
Our teams are urgently providing immediate emergency assistance whilst assessing the medium to long-term needs. Currently, we are:
Providing essential life-saving maternal health care for pregnant women and new mothers.
Deploying mobile teams to provide basic health services for displaced families.
Providing psychological support through our teams on the ground.
Supplying hospitals with equipment, medicines and consumables to provide maternal health services.
We need your urgent help today to reach more women and girls impacted by the earthquake in Syria.
