Brazil Humanitarian Emergency

Thousands of migrants and refugees from Venezuela are hosted in Brazil. Many require humanitarian support to meet their protection and health needs. GBV survivors often face major barriers in accessing services and adequate service provision is hindered by funding issues, lack of (trained) human resources and difficulties in coordination among service providers. The Federal Government leads the response to the crisis, in partnership with UN agencies; UNFPA leads the health sector, in partnership with the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO), as well as the gender-based violence sub-sector, together with UN Women.
