Thailand Humanitarian Emergency

A Rohingya refugee receives a health check-up.

Thailand has seen an influx of refugees due to ethnic conflict in Myanmar. Although improvements to the political situation and ceasefire agreements may lead to the repatriation of some refugees, many others continue to live along the Thai-Myanmar border. Quality health services, including family planning and maternal care, are limited and unable to meet the needs of the affected populations, while funding to refugee camps continues to decrease. UNFPA works to provide sexual and reproductive health services to the affected populations and supports mechanisms to prevent and respond to gender-based violence.
