About the Position:
The intern will work under the supervision the Foresight and Development Results Adviser, at the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) Headquarters in New York.
As part of the results reporting team, the intern will support drafting for the 2024 Executive Director Annual Report to the Executive Board, which will be presented to the Executive Board in June 2025.
The Annual Report highlights results achieved with UNFPA support throughout the year of 2024 for women, girls and young people globally, and maps trends, progress and challenges in core areas of work (ie: sexual and reproductive health and reproductive rights, gender equality, youth empowerment, and population data for development). This year's annual report marks the penultimate year of the current strategic plan, and therefore plays a role as UNFPA delivers on its Strategic Plan.
A work-plan with achievements will be agreed upon with the intern, with additional attention given to shaping learning opportunities. Regular engagement with the broader team, willingness to contact colleagues through meetings and emails, and open communication channels to discuss ideas, processes, and feedback, will lead to a beneficial environment for the intern and the team to learn.
