The position:
The GBV, Health & Humanitarian Programme Analyst undertakes critical analysis and assessment of relevant political, social and economic trends, guiding and facilitating the delivery of UNFPA’s programmes in Afghanistan.
S/he will report to the GBViE Specialist.

Job Purpose:
Working within a large and complex Country Office (CO) environment, you will support the effective management of UNFPA activities in the areas of Gender Based Violence (GBV), Reproductive Health, and Humanitarian area. Through substantive analysis and assessment of political, social and economic trends, you will contribute to project formulation and evaluation, joint programming initiatives, national development frameworks and most importantly establishing good working relations at both technical and strategic levels with Government counterparts.
You will monitor results achieved during implementation, guiding the appropriate application of systems and procedures, and developing enhancements as required.
Qualifications and Experience
Education:
Advanced university degree in health, gender, political science, or other related social science discipline.
Knowledge and Experience:
At least two (2) years professional experience in GBV and or SRH project management preferably in UN, international or national organizations.
Practical experience in design, monitoring and evaluation of development projects
Previous experience in medium-large scale emergencies desirable;
Proven experience combining formal knowledge on gender mainstreaming and gender equality with experience of applying these concretely to specific humanitarian program sectors, plans, policies and processes;
Knowledge of training tools and methods an proven experience delivering training on gender program and GBV humanitarian and MISP;
Familiarity with humanitarian programming and inter-agency coordination system;
Experience in training facilitation, monitoring and overall coordination of the component;
Knowledge of IASC Gender and GBV guidelines, completion of IASC Gender and GBV e-courses desirable
Experience in budget development and management;
Experience using office software packages and web-based management systems
Familiarity with UN policies and principle is desirable
Languages:
Fluency in English is required and knowledge of local languages (Dari, Pashto) is preferred.
