The position:

Under the overall supervision of the Representative and technical supervision of the Supplies Chain Specialist, the Programme Analyst substantively contributes to the effective management of UNFPA activities in the area of reproductive health with the focus at the supplies chain management . The RH component focuses on the provision of quality Reproductive Health Services, Safe Motherhood, commodity procurement and logistics to increase availability of health commodities,  HIV/AIDS Prevention and Emergency Planning and Preparedness.

Job purpose:

He/she analyzes and assesses relevant political, social and economic trends and provides substantive inputs to project formulation and evaluation, joint programming initiatives and national development frameworks.

The Programme Analyst guides and facilitates the delivery of UNFPA’s programmes by monitoring results achieved in the implementation. He/she ensures and guides the appropriate application of systems and procedures and develops enhancements if necessary.

The Programme Analyst facilitates the work of consultants, advisors and experts and establishes and maintains collaborative relationships with national counterparts, multi lateral and bi-lateral donor agencies and civil society to address emerging issues.

The Programme Analyst must effectively influence counterparts from diverse backgrounds to jointly contribute to achieving UNFPA’s mandate. The Programme Analyst is a substantive contributor to the programme team in the Country Office.

 

Qualification and experience:

Education: 

Master’s degree in health, population, demography and/or other related social science field. 
 
Knowledge and Experience: 

At least two (2) years working experience related to project / programme management, planning, monitoring and evaluation
Proficiency in current office software applications.
Willingness to travel outside Kabul on a regular basis to month the programme 
 
Languages: 

Fluency in English is required and knowledge of local languages (Dari, Pashto) is preferred.
