Under the supervision of The National Programme Officer for Gender, the Project Manager substantively contributes to the effective management of UNFPA in all aspects of Building Justice and Accountability for and with Women and Girls at the Community Level: Contributing to Ending Violence against Women in West Bank and Gaza Strip project implementation. |
2. Job Purpose
A. UNFPA Palestine Country Office have launched a systematic partnership with the Spanish Cooperation “Responding to humanitarian needs of GBV survivors in East Jerusalem. This will be achieved through working on objective: Enhanced safety and well-being of women and girls in East Jerusalem through improved access to and quality of GBV response services and strengthened community engagement and advocacy on GBV protection as following:
1) Decreased harmful practices and attitudes that perpetuate and validate violence against women and girls within targeted households and communities; and 2) Increased access by women and girls of gender-responsive ending violence against women services (economic, medical, psychosocial, security, shelter) free of discrimination; 3.)Strengthened institutional capacity to develop and implement legal and policy frameworks that promote and protect women’s and girls’ rights with regards to ending violence against women.
The Project Manager will be responsible for managing and leading UNFPA response to East Jerusalem area and the Spanish Cooperation “Responding to the Humanitarian Needs of GBV survivors in East Jerusalem 2024-2025 and will work closely in cooperation with the relevant partners and stakeholders, including, civil society, private sector, UN sister agencies and international organizations.
B. UNFPA started introducing Cash and Voucher Assistant (CVA) as part of its response to GBV case management and to SRH response to pregnant and lactating women. The project manager will take the main role to ensure effective implementation of the Cash and Voucher Assistance within case management for GBV survivors and during emergency for West Bank and Gaza, in cooperation with UN agency and different partners. Ensure efficient management of financial resources of the CVA through tracking the available resources, exercising appropriate financial controls and ensuring corporate financial policies are met and reporting structures established and maintained through close monitor of the CVA UN to UN agreement. The Project Manager will contribute to facilitating programme/ project planning and implementation using and developing appropriate mechanisms and systems and ensuring compliance with established procedures. |
