UNFPA Country Office (CO) is seeking an individual consultant or consultancy company to support its Maternal and Neonatal Mortality Reduction Project in Bioko Norte and Kie Ntem regions, funded by Noble Energy Company, in its Health Infrastructure Rehabilitation component.
The purpose of this consultancy is to support the preparatory phase of rehabilitation of health facilities activities foreseen within the framework of the project, in order to ensure substantive quality of this specific component. Health infrastructure expert consultant should ensure that technical requirements, standards and procedures are followed; internationally established tools and guidance are used; and decisions taken are evidence-based and adapted to local context and needs.
UNFPA is willing to hire a Company or Individual Professional able to provide an independent engineering consultancy, to support health facilities rehabilitation activities to be done in the framework of UNFPA Noble Energy project. The objective of this consultancy is to provide technical assistance to the mentioned project in the health infrastructure field, in order to ensure accuracy and pertinence of the recommendations made concerning the infrastructures to be rehabilitated, as well as of selected interventions.
Qualifications and Experience
For individual consultants:
- University Degree (ideally 4/5-years degree) in Civil Engineering, preferably with specialization in health infrastructures or related area;
- Should be a Certified Engineer, as per the rules of his/her home country;
- 10 years of increasingly responsible professional experience in the substantive area;
- Demonstrated expertise in the substantive area, ideally including reproductive, maternal and neonatal health field;
- Experience in similar needs assessment & planning work (desirable);
- Knowledge of Equatorial Guinea health context is an asset;
- Fluency in oral and written Spanish and English/French;
- Good planning and organisational skills.
For Companies:
- Should be an accredited and registered professional company, and must have on its team:
- At least one certified civil engineer; and/or
- One certified architect (desirable);
- Sound portfolio and experience in the substantive area, preferably in the health sector;
- Demonstrated expertise in the substantive area, ideally including reproductive, maternal and neonatal health field;
- Experience in similar needs assessment & planning work (desirable);
- Knowledge of Equatorial Guinea health context is an asset;
- Fluency in oral and written Spanish and English/French;
- Good planning and organisational skills.
