Position Summary:
The Monitoring & Evaluation Specialist is located in the UNFPA South Sudan Country Office based in Juba. Under the overall programmatic guidance of the Deputy Representative and in liaison with the Project Coordinator, and the Regional Monitoring and Evaluation Adviser, the Monitoring & Evaluation Specialist leads the monitoring and evaluation and strategic information functions for the large Strengthening Midwifery Services II project, co-funded by the Global Affairs Canada (GAC) and the Swedish International Development Agency (Sida) and implemented under the country programme in close partnership with the National Ministry of Health and implementing partners.
Requirements:
Education:
Advanced University Degree in demography, economics, social science, management or other related field.
Knowledge and Experience:
· At least 7 years of increasingly responsible professional experience, of which five years at the international level. At least five years in health and/or social sciences evaluation; including periodic updating of technical skills;
· Solid knowledge and expertise in monitoring and evaluation are required;
· Strong track record of leadership in managing programme-level monitoring and evaluation activities, and proven ability to produce good-quality, demonstrable results is required;
· Programmatic experience, including programme development, planning, monitoring and reporting, is desirable;
· Field experience is a strong asset;
· Ability to network with the academic institutions, professional associations and development community; and
· Excellent verbal and writing skills in English are required
· Strong analytical and leadership skills.
· Strong verbal and written communication skills.
· Proficiency in current office software and statistical applications
Languages: Fluency in English. Working knowledge of Arabic is an added advantage.
