The Position:
Under the overall guidance of the International Operations Manager and direct supervision of the Administrative Associate, the Administrative Assistant provides support to office operations performing a variety of standard administrative processes ensuring high quality and accuracy of work. The Administrative Assistant works in close collaboration with the Operations and Programme staff in the CO staff to exchange information and ensure consistent service delivery.

Job Purpose:
The Administrative Assistant delivers quality services in travel, HR management, procurement and office supplies to internal and external clients mastering all relevant rules, guidelines, processes and procedures. S/he takes a client-oriented results-focused approach to interpreting the rules, procedures and guidelines, providing support and guidance to the CO and UNFPA-supported projects. S/he supervises clerical and support staff.

Qualifications and Experience
Education:
Completed secondary level education required.
First level university (Bachelors) degree in Public/Business Administration is desirable.
Knowledge and Experience:
Minimum 6 years of relevant experience in administration or programme support service or related field is required;
Previous experience in the UN is an advantage;
Strong interpersonal and organizational skills;
Computer literacy - Word, Excel, Power-point, etc.;
Advanced knowledge of spreadsheet, database, presentation, and statistical packages will be an asset;
Strong analytical and data interpretation skills
Good writing and communication skills;
Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment.
Languages:
Fluency in English and knowledge of the local language is required.
