Job Summary
The Admin/Travel Clerk is located in Afghanistan Country Offices (CO) and reports to the Procurement Associate.
 
Under the overall supervision of the UNFPA International Operations Manager and under direct supervision of the Procurement Associate the incumbent will provide administrative, financial, travel and logistical support for the UNFPA country office and provincial offices, by adhering to UNFPA policy, standard rules and regulations.
 
Qualification and education:
 
Education:  
Completion of secondary school education; college education highly desirable.
 
Knowledge and Experience: 
  • 4 years of relevant work experience: administrative and customer facing. (Emphasis on organization-wide travel management a plus);
  • Excellent client orientation (communication, needs-anticipation, problem solving skills);
  • Solid knowledge of MS Office (Excel, Word & PPT) required;
  • Knowledge of Atlas or other ERP system desirable;
  • Comprehensive knowledge of UNFPA Travel Policies & Procedures and UN staff rules a plus;
  • Experience in adapting and applying general policies to specific instances;
  • Experience in dealing with time sensitive tasks (ability to multi-task and prioritize);
  • Excellent personal organizational and time management skills. Ability to work under pressure, make decisions and self-manage with limited supervision;
  • Demonstrated ability to work and function in a multi-cultural environment, and establish harmonious and effective working relations both within and outside the Organization;
  • Excellent command of English required;
  • The incumbent must demonstrate the ability to effectively communicate at all levels in both oral in written presentations;
  • Solid analytical skills;
  • Demonstrated ability to understand, anticipate and address traveler’s needs and concerns, and develops innovative approaches to meet those needs within the framework of the UNFPA Travel Policy and associated guidelines.
 
Languages: 
Fluency in English and knowledge of the local languages (Dari / Pashto) is required.
