Position Summary:

The Programme Data Analyst will cover the area of harnessing the demographic dividend within the broader context of population dynamics and also provide critical analysis of Implementing Partners (IP) and sub-offices reports into a data base for informed programmatic decisions.

The Programme Data Analyst is located in the UNFPA Cameroon Country Office (CO) in Yaoundé.  S/he works under the overall guidance of the UNFPA Deputy and direct supervision of Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E) Specialist.

Job Purpose

The Country Programme Document (CPD) 2018 – 2020 has three outcomes (i) integrated sexual and reproductive health; (ii) adolescents and youth; and (iii) population dynamics, with gender as cross cutting. The Programme Data Analyst is under the Population Dynamics Cluster/Outcome and ensures the effective oversight and management of UNFPA activities related to DD and makes contribution to joint programming activities under the UN Development Assistant Framework (UNDAF), national development agenda, the CPD and other initiatives related to data. 

 

Qualifications and Experience

Education: 

Master Degree in the Health Sector, Demography, Statistics, Sociology, Development Studies, Economics, or other related fields.

Knowledge and Experience:

  • Minimum of 7 years of progressive professional experience in the field of development and population activities, with experience in programme/ project management. Knowledge in the area of DD, networking with partners and ability to analyse, use and monitor data is an asset.

Languages:

  • Fluency in both French and English is required.
