Job Summary:
The Finance Associate is located in the Afghanistan Country Offices (CO) and reports to the International Operations Manager.
Job Purpose
The Finance Associate provides leadership in execution of financial services in the Country Office (CO) and provincial offices ensuring effective and transparent utilization of financial resources and integrity of financial services, mastering all relevant rules, guidelines, processes and procedures. S/he takes a client-oriented results-focused approach to interpreting the rules, procedures and guidelines, providing accounting and administrative support and guidance to the CO, provincial offices and implementing partners.
S/he supervises finance support staff.
The Primary roles are:
• Strategic finance coordination and support;
• Programmatic and Financial environmental scanning and analysis;
• Capacity Development and Networking;
• Knowledge management in Finance and administration;
• Supervises, monitors and evaluates the work performance of finance support staff;
• Financial and Administration operations and procedures guidance and support.
Qualification and experience:
Education:
Completed Secondary Level Education required. Professional Accounting qualification such as ACCA, CIMA, CA desirable.
Knowledge and Experience:
Seven years of relevant experience in administration, finance or office management;
Proficiency in current office software applications and corporate IT financial systems.
Languages:
Fluency in English is required. Knowledge of local working languages is required.
