The Monitoring and Evaluation Analyst is located in UNFPA Jordan Country Office (CO) in Amman and reports to the Representative. S/he is under the overall guidance and direct supervision of the Representative. The Monitoring and Evaluation Analyst will work closely with the Humanitarian Coordinator and all Jordan CO team members.
Job Purpose
Under the overall guidance and direct supervision of the Representative, and in close cooperation with the Humanitarian Coordinator and all Jordan CO team members, the M&E Analyst will provide technical leadership in M&E quality assurance for programmes across humanitarian and development settings, and will coordinate and strengthen the capacity of UNFPA staff and implementing partners in programme monitoring, evaluation and reporting. S/he will work on planning, monitoring and tracking the implementation of the regular, humanitarian operations and work plans with partners. Furthermore, will work on strategic planning, monitoring and evaluation, documenting and reporting on the UNFPA results internally and externally, linking with the UNFPA Communication Analyst and emergency Reporting/Resource Mobilization Analysts, as well as generates and analyses data for policy advocacy and produce fundraising proposals.
He/ she assists in the monitoring, evaluation and reporting on programme area by analyzing relevant political, social and economic trends and providing inputs to programme plans and implementation, joint programming initiatives and monitoring. The M&E Analyst assists with implementation by using and developing appropriate mechanisms and systems and ensuring compliance with established procedures, as well as by monitoring results achieved during implementation.
Education:
Advanced Degree in Public Health, Population, Demography, Project Management and /or other related social science field.
Knowledge and Experience:
Two years of experience in programme management, and monitoring and evaluation at national level, preferably with the UN or I/NGOs.
Experience working with government institutions and donor organizations.
Familiarity with issues on population, reproductive health, gender and youth.
Awareness and demonstrable knowledge of reproductive health and GBV issues and their relevance in humanitarian emergency settings.
Knowledge of humanitarian emergency operations and roles / responsibilities of humanitarian actors. Knowledge, skill, and experience in participatory methods for community development and mobilization. Ability to work in teams, under pressure and for extra hours as the situation develops.
