Job Summary
The Programme Analyst is located in the Sub-regional office in Jamaica and reports to the UNFPA Deputy Director of the UNFPA Office for the English and Dutch Speaking Caribbean.
The Policy/Programme Analyst provides assistance in the design, planning and management of SRO’s work plans by analyzing relevant political, social and economic trends and providing inputs to project formulation and evaluation, joint programming initiatives and national development frameworks with a particular focus on population dynamics and gender equality thematic areas. The Policy/Programme Analyst provide assistance and support with programme implementation and reporting by using and developing appropriate mechanisms and systems and ensuring compliance with established procedures, as well as by monitoring results achieved during implementation. S/he is instrumental in facilitating programme/project implementation using and developing appropriate mechanisms and systems and ensuring compliance with established procedures.
Education
Post-graduate University Degree or equivalent in demography, population & gender studies, economics, or other field directly related to the substantive areas of this position
Knowledge and Experience
3 years of prior professional experience in the field of program development and population activities covering sexual and reproductive health and rights, gender equality with an emphasis on adolescents and youth would be desirable. At least one-year experience in Policy/Programme analysis activities.
