Job Summary

Strategic Results Support:

 Contribute to the preparation and implementation of results-based monitoring and Evidence Based Programming (EBP) plans in the CO;

  Contribute to developing in country substantive / technical methodologies and tools for monitoring and evaluation, in concert with UNFPA monitoring and evaluation policies and standards;

  Contribute to providing technical support to the CO and field offices/staff, to ensure their use of performance and impact measurement methods and indicators;

  Compile and regularly update a comprehensive list of programme indicators under the country programme and projects, Whole of Syria projects, UN Strategic Framework and Humanitarian Response Plan;

  Compile monitoring and evaluation information / data, and make them available to programme staff;

  Provide technical support to ensure that the CO has the necessary information to effectively report on and advocate for women, girls and young people through the appropriate channels and to enhance partnerships with key stakeholders;

 Contribute to the preparation of management reports, quarterly and annual reports under the Strategic Information System of UNFPA, as well as other reports, such as SG reports and those for ASRO/WoS and donors;

  Assist in the preparation of other reports related to M&E such as specific data analysis, good practices, partnership analysis, environmental scanning, and lessons learnt to support programme's performance, relevance, efficiency, effectiveness, sustainability, and visibility.

Education:

Advanced university degree or equivalent professional experience in economics, public health, demography and/or other related applied research or Social Science field;

Or Bachelor Degree with Minimum of 2 years of professional experience in Programme and/or project monitoring and evaluation in the public or private sector;

Knowledge and Experience: 

Experience with UN M&E systems and tools is an asset;

Substantive knowledge and practical experience in population, reproductive health, GBV and/or youth programming is desirable;

Strong research and analytical skills;

Field experience is an asset;

Proficiency in MS Office packages including database management.

Languages:

           Arabic as a native language and excellent knowledge of written and spoken English is required.
