The Position:

The Programme Analyst, Sexual Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) (Government and Field Liaison) is located in Bangladesh Country Office (CO) and reports to the Programme Specialist, Sexual Reproductive Health (SRH).

Job Purpose:

The Programme Analyst, SRHR assists in the design, planning and management of UNFPA’s country programme by analyzing relevant political, social and economic trends and providing inputs to project formulation and evaluation, joint programming initiatives and national development frameworks. The Programme Analyst, SRHR assists with programme/ project implementation by using and developing appropriate mechanisms and systems and ensuring compliance with established procedures, as well as by monitoring results achieved during implementation.

Qualifications and Experience

Education:  

Advanced degree in health, population, demography and/or other related social science field.

Knowledge and Experience: 

Two years of professional experience in the field of development and population activities, preferably in programme/project management. 

Prior district level experience working with decentralized Ministry of Health structures would be highly desirable.

Thorough understanding of the various divisions of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare and experience working directly with the Directorate General of Health Services, Directorate General of Family Planning, Directorate General of Nursing and Midwifery would be an added advantage.

Understanding of UNFPA annual work plan processes including prior experience monitoring work plan implementation would be an asset.

Knowledge of the health sector wide approach, the project implementation plan and the operational plans is an advantage.

Languages: 

Fluency in English and Bangla is required. Working knowledge of another UN language an asset.
