The Position:

The Programme Analyst is responsible for providing technical inputs to the planning, conceptualization, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of the youth and reproductive health component of the Country Programme. You will maintain collaborative relationships with the government line ministries and departments, civil society constituents, the United Nations funds, programmes and specialized agencies and other development organizations.

You will report directly to the UNFPA Assistant Representative.

Job Purpose:

In a highly complex operating environment, you will play a key role in contributing to the prioritization and effective management of UNFPA interventions in the area of adolescent and youth sexual and reproductive health, including project formulation and evaluation. You will provide information on achievement of results in the implementation of the youth and reproductive health component of the Country Programme.

You will facilitate technical assistance missions and contribute to UN systems coordination through participation in policy dialogue and provision of inputs into joint common system initiatives.

Requirements:

Qualifications and Experience

Education: 

Advanced university degree in in Social Work, Sociology, Anthropology, Public Health, and/or other related social science field.

Knowledge and Experience:

At least 2 years of experience in managing adolescent and youth sexual and reproductive health and participation programmes.

Strategic and operational field experience in adolescent and youth sexual and reproductive health policy and planning, provision of technical advice, national capacity development and management of adolescent and youth programmes.

Demonstrated experience in programme/project planning design, follow up, monitoring and evaluation.

Strong interest in development work, especially the mission of the United Nations Population Fund and dedication to the principles of the United Nations.

Knowledge and experience working with the United Nations system would be an advantage.

Excellent writing, communication presentation and computer skills.

Languages:

Fluency in English and Urdu are required, knowledge of local languages is an asset.
