Job Setting:

Under the guidance of the Representative, overall supervision of the Deputy Representative and direct supervision of the National Programme Coordinator, the Provincial Programme Coordinator substantively contributes to the effective achievement of GRZ/DFID/UN Joint programme activities in the province. This includes incorporating relevant RMNCAH&N programme elements, gender equality, and human rights, etc., into programme design and delivery; specifically in the context of national development.

 

Job Purpose:

The Programme Coordinator is responsible for the management, design implementation and coordination of the GRZ/DFID/UN Joint Programme on Health Systems Strengthening for RMNCAH&N in the province. S/he will provide technical guidance and support to team members to ensure a particular focus on improving RMNCAH&N outcomes within the context of national and sub-national policy and programmes.

 

Education: 

  • Master’s degree in public health, social development, medicine, or other related social science field.
  • Familiarity with issues of Reproductive, Maternal, Newborn, Child and Adolescent Health programmes, with understanding of the linkages with overall development outcomes for women, children and young people.

 

Knowledge and Experience:

  • 2 years professional experience preferably in programme/project management in the public or private sector (at national level).
  • Experience in working with government institutions, NGOs and/or donor institutions.
  • Proficiency in current office software applications.
  • Proficiency in Atlas, PeopleSoft, and other computerized applications used by the UN.

 

Languages: 

Fluency in oral and written English.

A second UN language is an asset.
