Job Summary

The Project Associate will be based at the regional office in Panama City, under the overall guidance and oversight of the Regional Programme Advisor and the direct supervision of the Programme Associate.   The UNFPA Project Associate supports the implementation, management, monitoring and evaluation of the multi-country project “Strengthening SRHR in El Salvador, Honduras and Nicaragua.” Now in the start-up phase, this three year project began in April 2018 with funding from Global Affairs Canada (GAC) and has three intermediate outcomes:

Strengthen strategic alliances and regional and national advocacy platforms on sexual and reproductive health and rights

Improve the quality of multi-sector national policies and services for the reduction of adolescent pregnancy

Improve measures and mechanisms for the prevention and mitigation of gender-based violence

Education:    University Degree in business management, public administration, social science, public health, international development or related area.

 

Knowledge and Experience: 

5 years of relevant experience in programme/ project management. Experience in project management in health and/or youth areas will be considered as an advantage

Previous experience in development assistance or related work for donor organization, NGO, or UN Agency is a very strong advantage;

Strong interpersonal and organizational skills;

Computer literacy - Word, Excel, Power-point, etc. and advance knowledge of spreadsheet and database packages, experience in handling of web based management systems;

Sound knowledge and experience in implementing the principles of results based management (RBM);

Good knowledge of Atlas / PeopleSoft or other ERP system;

Good writing and communication skills.

Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment and with diverse stakeholders;

Excellent drafting skills and demonstrated ability to prepare high quality reports;

Fluency in both oral and written English and Spanish is required.

Good knowledge of Microsoft office and google applications.
