Job Summary
The crisis in Syria, now in its seventh year, is having a devastating impact on Syrian population and in particular women and young girls. According to the estimates by the UN, the number of the people in need for support is around 13.1 million, including 6.1 million IDPs, of whom 1.6 million are women of reproductive age.
Within this context, the Syrian crisis is characterized by unprecedented levels of international media attention as broadcast, digital and social media networks continue to focus on diverse aspects of the crisis within the country and its fall-out on the neighboring countries. This makes the Syrian crisis among the most visible emergencies that the international community has had to deal with.
Accordingly, UNFPA country Office in Syria aims to highlight both the impact of activities implemented by UNFPA, local &international partners and to raising awareness among the Syrian public on topics relevant to Reproductive Health indispensable needs in Syria, focusing on UNFPA’s role on the delivery of life saving activities for women in this emergency response.
Education: University Degree in Science, Medicine, Pharmaceutical Science, Public Health is preferable or any other relevant degree;
Experience: Minimum six years of work related experience, preferably in the fields of UN projects, excellent and proven experience in dealing with local government challenges; with special emphasis on humanitarian needs and response;
- Experience in preparing capacity building trainings in regulatory pharmaceutical activities;
- Good working knowledge of English;
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to operate under stressful conditions;
- Good social and communicative skills;
- Team worker and organizer;
- Cultural sensitivity required in serving persons of culturally diverse backgrounds.
Language Requirements:
Fluent written and spoken English and Arabic.
Computer Experience:
Knowledge in Microsoft office is required.
