Job Title: Programme Coordinator

Position Summary:
The Programme Coordinator assists the country programme team with the planning and management of the GCC Area Office Annual Work Plans(AWP) by providing and managing data inputs, providing logistical support, monitoring project implementation and following up on recommendations. The Programme Coordinator applies established systems and procedures and assists in the creation of substantive knowledge by compiling, synthesizing and analyzing information relevant to the three main area of focus of the office -population and development, reproductive health and gender issues. S/he will assist the programme team with the GCC Office AWPs implementation by using and developing appropriate mechanisms and systems and ensuring compliance with established procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
Under the supervision and guidance of the UNFPA Representative and the Programme Analyst, the Programme Coordinator will have the following duties and responsibilities:
- Assist in design and implementation of GCC office programmes. Participates in the identification and implementation of Annual Work Plan (AWP) by compiling and analyzing information in the subject areas of UNFPA assistance to the Government, drafts project documents and work plans and prepares tables and statistical data.
- Supports advocacy and resource mobilization strategy of the CO by compiling and synthesizing relevant background material for use in discussions and public events. Establishes and maintains network of donor and public information contacts and provides assistance in organizing and conducting donor meetings and public information events.
- Assist in the formulation and design of the AWP and related activities and its component projects in line with government priorities and according to UNFPA programme policies and procedures.
- Liaise with relevant Ministries to develop and implement programmes in his/her area of focus.
- Assist in conducting the development of and dissemination of relevant outreach, resource mobilization and marketing materials
Within the broad scope of work as outlined above, the consultant is expected to provide day to day programme support to the GCC Area office Programme team throughout the consultancy period. Specific deadlines, reports/deliverables will be based on need basis and will be communicated accordingly.
The consultant will be a part of the Programme team and will be working under the supervision and guidance of the UNFPA Representative and the Programme Analyst

Required expertise and qualification
Education:
First level university degree required. Master’s degree desirable.
Knowledge and Experience:
- Seven years of relevant experience in programme/ project management.
- Proficiency in current office software applications and corporate IT systems.
Languages:
- Fluency in written and oral communication skills in both English and Arabic is a must.
Other Desirable Skills:
Experience working with multi-cultural teams.
The consultant will be working in UNFPA GCC Area Office located in Muscat, Oman along with the office staff and will be provided with the required
