Position Summary:

The Programme Coordinator is located in the UNFPA Kenya Country Office (CO) and reports to the UNFPA Representative.

The Programme Coordinator works within a large and complex country office environment ensuring the effective management of UNFPA activities in the area of Reproductive, Maternal, Newborn, Child and Adolescent Health (RMNCAH). S/he provides leadership and oversees effective and efficient programme formulation, implementation and evaluation.  S/he leads the programme team and collaborates with the CO’s operations/administrative support staff.

Requirements:

Education:
  • Post-graduate university degree in public health, medicine and/or other related science field.
Qualifications and Experience:
  • 8 to 10  years with increasing professional experience and responsibilities, at national level in the field sexual and reproductive and maternal health;
  • Acknowledged expertise in the area of RMNCAH and overall sexual and reproductive health and rights;
  • Strong track record of technical leadership and proven ability to demonstrate results;
  • Demonstration of programme management skills;
  • Field experience a strong asset.
  • Languages: Fluency in English is required.  Knowledge of Kiswahili is desirable.
