Post Summary:

Programme Specialist (Census Donor Coordinator) post is located at Country Office in Myanmar and reports directly to the Representative of the Myanmar Country Office.
The position of Census Donor Coordinator is to continue to manage the Census Donor Fund. The Coordinator will also manage the donor forum for reporting, sharing information and consultation with concerned donors. In addition, the incumbent will support the Government of Myanmar in implementing and documenting activities aimed at increasing people’s participations throughout the census process, in line with international standards and donor priorities. The coordinator will ensure the continuation of safeguarding and conflict sensitivity initiatives in relation to data release and dissemination.

Requirements:

Education: 

• Advanced university degree in economics, business administration, social sciences, international relations, development studies or related field;

Knowledge and Experience:

• At least 5 years of relevant experience, including country office or other field experience with international organizations;
• Experience working on issues of Population and Development and Census required;
• Experience in coordinating programs engaging a range of stakeholders, including donors, governments and institutes in different development contexts;
• Prior experience with donor coordination and/or UN coordination in the field desirable;
• Experience working in Myanmar and specifically working in Myanmar’s context of donor relations and UN coordination is highly desirable;
• Experience in application of conflict sensitivity and “do no harm” approaches in the programming

Languages:

Fluency in English is required; knowledge of another UN language is an asset.
