Duration: 60 working days (Between March and December 2022)
Location: Remote support for an office based in UNFPA HQ in New York with some possible travel to the field
Scope of Work:
Under the supervision of the UNFPA Deputy Executive Director (Management), the PSEA/SH Coordinator oversees the internal coordination of PSEA/SH activities within UNFPA across multiple stakeholders, and acts as the external focal point for inter-agency coordination, addressing all elements of PSEA including, but not limited to, media focal point, programming perspectives, training, and country office support.
The PSEA/SH Coordinator works closely with a global network of PSEA focal points at the regional and country level to support implementation across the Organization. UNFPA has developed a technical training programme to strengthen the capacity of PSEA focal points, as well as awareness raising activities for personnel and managers, which will be rolled-out in 2022.
In order to maximise the outreach and impact of these initiatives, UNFPA is looking for a consultant who will support the development and facilitation of selected activities in Spanish.
Under the direct supervision of the PSEA/SH Coordinator, the consultant will provide support with:
a) Preparing training material and activities.
b) Translating training and communications material into Spanish.
c) Delivering training activities.
d) Perform other duties as required.
This consultancy will be performed at a remote workplace with a proper work environment, including appropriate workspace, computer equipment and related telecommunication connections.
The consultant will be tasked by the PSEA/SH Coordinator. All work products, both electronic and hard copy, produced by the consultant as a result of this engagement are owned by UNFPA and shall be submitted to the PSEA/SH Coordinator as per agreed upon deadlines.
Some travel can be expected, with possible travel to hardship duty stations.
Requirements:
Education
- Advanced university degree in one of the following disciplines: Law, Education, Public Health, Sociology, Gender (including GBV), International Development, Public Administration, Business Management or related field.
- A first level university degree with a combination of relevant education, training or experience in a relevant field may be accepted in lieu of an advanced degree.
Experience
- Looking for a P3 level equivalent: at least 5 years of relevant professional experience
- Demonstrated experience in the field of protection from sexual epxloitation and abuse, gender, gender-based violence, safeguarding, and/or conduct and discipline.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Fluency in English and Spanish is required, working knowledge of other UN official languages desired.
- Previous relevant experience in the UN context is highly desirable.
