The Position:

UNFPA established a regional response hub in Amman, Jordan, to coordinate and provide technical and operational support to its offices in the Syrian Arab Republic and the neighboring countries of Jordan, Lebanon, Iraq, Egypt and Turkey. The UNFPA Regional Syria Response Hub provides technical and operational support to country offices and coordinates with other sister UN agencies regional emergency offices. The Hub also is responsible for the management and coordination of all regional grants for the Syria crisis. Within the (WOS) architecture, the UNFPA Regional Syria Response Hub is the coordination and information management point for the WOS for UNFPA and for its mandate areas in Gender Based Violence (GBV) including the GBV Area of Responsibility (GBV AoR), and for Sexual and Reproductive Health (SRH).

This position will be under the overall supervision of the Head of the Regional Humanitarian Hub for Syria and the Arab States

Job Purpose:

Under the leadership of the Head of the Regional Syria Response hub, the regional humanitarian grants coordinator will be responsible for ensuring that UNFPA manages regional grants that it has received for the regional Syria crisis.

Education:  

Advanced university degree in development, social sciences or related fields
 

 Languages: 

Fluency in English and Arabic; knowledge of other official UN languages, preferably French is desirable.
