Seeking Nominations for UN Population Award

The UN Committee for the Population Award is calling for nominations to be submitted for the 2012 prize. The award was first given in 1983 and is presented to an individual(s) and/or institution(s) in recognition of outstanding contributions to increasing the awareness of population questions and to their solution. The award consists of a gold medal, a diploma and a monetary prize.

The Award Committee is chaired by Egypt’s Ambassador to the UN and includes 10 UN member states. UNFPA, the United Nations Population Fund, serves as the committee’s secretariat.

Nominations for the 2012 award will be accepted until 31 December 2011.
