UNFPA Report Describes Impact and Opportunities Of Human History’s Largest Population of Young People

UNITED NATIONS, New York—A new report by UNFPA, the United Nations Population Fund, shows how young people are key to economic and social progress in developing countries and describes what must be done to realize their full potential.
The State of World Population 2014, The Power of 1.8 Billion: Adolescents, Youth and the Transformation of the Future, to be released globally at 0001 hours (12:01 a.m.) GMT on 18 November, also provides the latest trends and statistics on adolescent and youth populations worldwide.
UNFPA’s flagship publication will be released on the same day in Berlin, Geneva, The Hague, London, Madrid, New York, Paris, Rome, Stockholm, Washington, D.C. and many other cities worldwide. It will be available in Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Russian and Spanish.
