The Cotonou Youth Action Agenda reaffirms the pivotal role young people have played in advancing implementation of the Programme of Action of the International Conference on Population and Development globally. It calls for urgent accelerated action and aims to influence national and regional preparations for the 57th United Nations Commission on Population and Development, the High-Level Political Forum on Sustainable Development, and the Summit of the Future. The key recommendations are informed by the ICPD30 Global Youth Synthesis Report, which consolidates findings from 600 young people across various regional review meetings and consultations co-organized by UNFPA, the ICPD Youth Platform, and the Major Group for Children and Youth.
