In 2014 the Evaluation Office started three thematic evaluations as part of the transitional biennial budgeted evaluation plan (2014-2015) approved by the UNFPA Executive Board in 2014. These evaluations are:
The evaluation will assess the extent to which the UNFPA support to population and housing censuses data strengthens national capacity for the production and dissemination of quality disaggregated data, integrates evidence-based analysis into decision-making and policy formulation over the last 10 years.

The evaluation assessed the extent to which UNFPA support to population and housing census strengthened national capacity for:
The evaluation provided an opportunity to ensure accountability to partner countries, donors and other key stakeholders vis a vis UNFPA support to the 2010 census round and to the UNFPA Executive Board on performance against four strategic frameworks covering multiple periods over a period of ten years.
